11 Powerful Ways to Develop A Wealthy Mindset & Attract Abundance

You can work hard your entire life and never get the wealth and abundance you feel you deserve. I’ve seen it so many times. Clients who come to me after 10 years of running a business, working a job, or focusing on a side hustle but never breaking the $50,000 or $100,000 per year mark. They were working hard and hustling every day for years but never getting the reward.

Why is that? Why is it that two people who can work equally hard can have completely different income results, in the same niche and the same industry? I don’t believe in luck. I believe in attraction. Our brains are wired to look around our environments and prove that what we believe is true. It attracts things to us, and it pushes our blessing away from us depending on how we see the world.

The good news is that this is fixable. By developing a wealth mindset and working towards goals that align with that mindset daily, you can change your financial life in a big way. Your mindset is the starting point. When you combine mindset with actual financial strategy, magic happens.

Would you like to create a wealth mindset? Get started with these techniques:

1. Change the way you think about money.

You won’t believe the number of times I’ve heard people say that money is evil, that rich people are bad, and that money won’t buy them happiness. This line of thought was taught to us at a young age and it is counterintuitive of a wealthy mindset. If you want to attract more abundance into your life then you better reprogram the way you think about money.

Instead, start reminding yourself that money isn’t evil, it’s freedom. Google and find proof of the millions of rich people that are using wealth to change lives and make a difference. Tell yourself that money is happiness and joy. When you get money, treat it like it is a good thing to attract remembering that it makes life easier and more enjoyable.

Once you change the way you think about money, you’ll start to attract wealth without even trying.

2. Practice gratitude daily.

When it comes down to it, love is a universal currency available to anyone at any time, and the quickest way to use that currency to attract wealth is to show gratitude. You may not be happy with what you have in your life, but instead of complaining practice gratitude and love.

You can do that two ways. One, take 5 minutes a day to pause and express gratitude about all the things you are grateful for in your life. Two, show love towards the situations and things in your life even if they don’t make you happy. Hate your job? Show up smiling every day and make the best of it. Need a better car? Take a moment to express your love for the one you have now before putting the key in the ignition.

These small acts of love and gratitude attract wealth into your life and keep you on a high vibration.

3. Create value and sell it.

People with wealth don’t focus on making money, they focus on creating value. In everything you create, do it provide value for the world and charge what that is truly worth. Once you do that marketing, sales, opportunities, partnerships, and wealth will naturally fall into place.

Consider how you can contribute the greatest amount of value to the world and get paid for it.

4. Take control of your time.

As a human, your time on this earth is finite and you were put here to create. Your greatest power is your ability to decide how you choose to spend your time. That is why wealth is so important. Wealth gives you the freedom to spend your time any way you like.

A person with a wealth mindset uses their time effectively. How do you spend your free time? Are you building wealth, learning about wealth, or spending your time on something else?

5. Learn how to create wealth.

If you are like me, no one pulled you aside and taught you about wealth, income streams, and how to get more money. You might not even know anyone who is considered wealthy. And herein lies the problem…it’s hard to develop a wealthy mindset if you don’t even know what wealth is or how it really works..

Bottom line: The more you know, the more you can do. It’s up to you to learn everything there is to know about wealth. The best place to start is to learn about the types of income available to you.

There are seven types of income stream:

  1. Earned Income: Money you get by doing something or spending your time for someone else.
  2. Profit Income: Money you get by selling something for more than it cost you to make it.
  3. Interest Income: Money you get by lending your money to someone else.
  4. Dividend Income: Money that you get as a return on shares of a company you own.
  5. Rental Income: Money that you get as a result of renting out an asset that you have.
  6. Capital Gains: Money that you get as a result of an increase in the value of an asset that you own.
  7. Royalty Income: Money you get as a result of letting someone use your products, ideas, or processes.

Take time to learn about each one so you can understand more about wealth and how it works.

6. Think big and then do it.

When you have a wealthy mindset you believe that anything is possible and you use that as fuel to make your dreams happen. I encourage you to sit down and plan out your big goals and ideas. During that time, brainstorm what steps you would take if money, time, and resources were unlimited.

Then go big. Remember, safe goals are for mediocre people. Wealth and mediocre don’t go together.

Imagine that you could make consistent progress towards your big goals for the next 10 years. Where would you end up? Now, develop a plan to do just that in three years. That’s thinking big.

7. Say “No” over and over again.

We talked earlier about changing the way you think about money. Now let’s work on changing what we do to match that mindset. Before you say yes to anything, ask yourself if it aligns with your goals. Every minute and dollar spent can distract you from the big picture. Wealthy people have a laser focus and don’t waste time or money on things that don’t bring them closer to their goals.

In a nutshell, ask yourself, “Is what I am about to do going to make me more likely or less likely to achieve my goals?” If not, just say no.

8. Network with wealthy people.

The old saying that your network is your net worth has stood the test of time for a reason. I know we hear this all the time, but it’s worth hearing a million more times. You become more like the people you hang around with.

When I first interacted consistently with truly wealthy people I was blown away by the world they lived in and how they saw it. It was nothing like what I was used to. Wealthy people have a different way of viewing the world and making decisions. Just by spending a few hours alone with them, you learn so much and you’ll find that wealthy people don’t view money in the same way that financially challenged people do.

When your mindset changes, the way you view the world changes, too. This is the first step to creating wealth.

9. Recite wealth affirmations daily.

If you are just beginning your journey to attract abundance in your life, you may need to trick your brain a little to start developing a wealthy mindset. The best way to do that is through affirmations.

Affirmations are positive statements that activate your mind to change your life, one thought at a time. They enable you to accomplish the things you wish to achieve. Affirmations work because each word we speak has power, the power to evoke emotions. They work because they allow you to program – or reprogram – your thought processes, replacing negative thoughts with positive ones.

Here is my favorite money and wealth affirmation:

Each day, I choose to live with the belief that everything I need is always provided. The universe is generous to me. The amount I can receive is only limited by my beliefs.

Prosperity is an option available to us all. I can have anything that I focus on with expectation. As time goes on, I experience increasing abundance.

I constantly find new opportunities that enrich my life. I take advantage of these opportunities to the fullest. I am enhancing my life each day.

I find myself worrying less about meeting my basic needs. What I need to live flows to me effortlessly. As these basic needs are met more easily, I am free to expand my life in other areas. My life is complete and satisfying.

Each day is a gift that I enjoy unwrapping. I am pleasantly surprised by the unfolding of the day.

I receive many blessings and feel thankful for each of them.

Today, I am allowing more abundance and prosperity in my life than ever before. I am completely open to receiving every opportunity and possibility. I live in prosperity and abundance.

10. Read books about wealth and money mindset.

One thing I love about Bill Gates is his unapologetic thirst for knowledge. When he wants to master and learn something, he dives right in and masters it, saying no to distractions. Once he learns, he puts it into practice. Reading is fundamental to developing a wealth mindset. So many people have been where you are, overcame, and wrote a book about it.

Here are my five favorite wealth mindset books by some of my favorite female authors.

11. Consume content that encourages abundance.

We spend a lot of time consuming content in this digital world. From Netflix, to scrolling down social media feeds, what we see and absorb plays a huge factor in the way we think and act.

To develop a wealthy mindset, it’s important to consume content that supports that. Watch YouTube channels about abundance and wealth, watch TV shows that showcase wealthy individuals, stop following accounts that make you feel negative and helpless, and follow accounts that lift you up and encourage you.

Developing a wealthy mindset is like a muscle, it takes everyday practice. But once you strengthen that muscle you’ll be able to attract and manifest things that even your imagination couldn’t imagine.
